Lately, it seems the weight of the world is on our shoulders, the future of our Republic is in our hands and unrelenting pressure is becoming unbearable!! We're experiencing arguments, debates, name-calling, hurt feelings, rudeness, egos, power-struggles....and this is just on our side! No matter what kind of day I'm having, however, when I walk into a room filled with fellow patriots who are volunteering and putting their lives on hold with sincere dedication to our cause....I'm filled with love, appreciation, respect, and admiration. Nothing brightens my day more than being surrounded by people of all ages who understand that our country is the last best hope for man on Earth and that we must do something to save our Republic.
This battle in which we fight is not for the faint of heart.
I understand what this movement has done to families and is still doing today. I know what's happened to our careers, to paychecks and to "life as normal". If you were to ask me to describe my life two and a half years ago, you'd think I was talking about a life belonging to someone else. I oftentimes refer to 2009 as the best year of my life and the worst year of my life at the same time. But at the end of the day, when I take inventory, in spite of the struggles that still continue to this day, I wouldn't change a thing.
"God works in mysterious ways", as they say and they're not kidding!
With that said, I could not be more proud of what we've accomplished together. I could not be more thankful to God above for the relationships we've forged along the way. I used to talk about certain people in my life that could "do no harm". No matter what they did, I would always without a question forgive them and see passed any issues because they were that important to me. Well, since this movement began, I'm the lucky one because I've added to that list at least ten fold.
So why am I writing tonight? Why now?
I've noticed the way people are talking to each other. We all have, we can't ignore it. Our email inbox is filled with attitudes and negativity, and it's killing me! It's sad to see how we've been treating our fellow patriots lately.
With that said, I think it's time we take inventory. It's time to look around and take notice of who is standing with us. There are so many people out there that still have their heads in the sand and it's pretty sad and frustrating at the same time. With that in mind, when I take inventory it makes me look at those that are standing with me and I could not be more proud and appreciative.
We must cherish and nourish our relationships. We must not take them for granted. We must first seek to understand, then be understood. We must exhaust every possible effort to treat each other and especially their ideas with utmost respect.
I believe the video above is a good first step in the right direction and I hope everyone takes a moment to watch it. I've copy/pasted the text of the video here:
"Your personal philosophy is the greatest determining factor in how your life works out." - Jim Rohn
Combine your knowledge. None of us is smarter than all of us.
Welcome greatness... it lives all around you.
Choose to: think the best about others. believe the best about others.
Put people up, not down.
Develop the ability to find the ability in others.
Help others... ...be liked. ...be right. ...be comfortable. ...be winners.
Get your ego out of the way!!!
Replace the word "I" with the word "We".
Inspire someone... ...to be the best they can be.
Be an exception. not an exemption.
Think like a person of action. act like a person of thought.
Commit yourself to something bigger than yourself.
Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does!!
Go for it!!
Start an epidemic... ...of enthusiasm.
Throw your heart over the bar, and your body will follow.
Don't waste time waiting for inspiration. Begin, and inspiration will find you.
Be on a mission!
Never let weeds grow under your dreams.
Never mistake knowledge for wisdom.
Never chase a lie.
Never laugh at anyone's dream.
Never make excuses.
Celebrate what you want more of.
Make promises sparingly. Keep them faithfully.
Develop a tolerance for failure.
Have no limits.
Keep your promises.
Never kill an idea.
Pursue character before prosperity.
Ask, "What if?"
Give so much time to the improvement of yourself... ...that you don't have time to criticize others.
Create an atmostphere of forgiveness.
Make your word your bond.
Don't belittle, be BIG!
Learn to say NO to the good... ...so you can say YES to the great!
Be unpopular when necessary.
Never be ashamed of what you believe.
Never let up when you are ahead.
Don't blow your own horn... ...or you might miss the music.
"Let others lead small lives, but not you. Let others argue over small things, but not you. Let others cry over small hurts, but not you. Let others leave their future in someone else's hands, but not you." - Jim Rohn
You're alive... ...live it that way!
