Dallas Tea Party Grassroots Bootcamp; Thank You

On Thursday, February 24th, 2011, I flew to Dallas, TX to join the Dallas area tea party as a presenter at their Grassroots Bootcamp. To my surprise, there were over 230 Texas patriots in attendance and just as you'll find at any tea party group, they were the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. And with their passion and drive for the mission at hand, saving our Republic, I thank God these patriots are on our side.

I was asked to prepare a 45-minute presentation on what education materials we use in our tea party efforts in Florida. The main point I wanted to make was that we must have an informed electorate:

In order for members of the tea party movement - to be on the right side of an issue… - to hold Politicians Accountable… - to identify the right candidates… …we must have an informed electorate.

In addition, the informed electorate must have a perspective... - based on our founder’s original intent… - on the limits placed on the government in the US Constitution… - on the fact that our rights come from God.

Although there are many educational resources I recommend, and I'm learning about more and more every day, I focused my presentation on the following:

  • Heritage Foundation – We Still Hold These Truths + Leaders Guide
  • David Barton / Wallbuilders – The American Heritage Series
  • W. Cleon Skousen - The Five Thousand Year Leap
  • W. Cleon Skousen – The Majesty of God’s Law
  • Paul Skousen – Conference Calls
  • PowerThink Publishing – US Constitution Coach Kit
  • Dr. Richard Lee – In God We Still Trust (a 365 Day Devotional)

As an added bonus, I was able to spend time with Brian Wilson, formerly a news anchor with Fox News. Brian completely understands the tea party movement and provided the attendees a look at how to deal with the media. Although we know the media is not interested in the truth, it's great to hear from an "insider's" perspective on how best to communicate our message.

I want to personally thank Ken Emanuelson, Lorie Medina, Amy Knickerbocker, Katrina Pierson, Konni Burton and the rest of the incredible team in Dallas for including me in their weekend's training.
